The leaders of the Russian Duma factions at the State Council warned that a war has been declared on the Russian world during the meeting at the Kremlin earlier today and the Russian President Vladimir Putin announced today that he completely agrees with their statement, TASS reports.
“Colleagues have spoken, asserting that a war has been declared on the ‘Russian world,’ and I agree – it is indeed so,” Putin said in his closing remarks.
The Russian president also agreed with the remark that “the birth rate is insufficient, because the matter concerns extinction,” made by A Just Russia – For Truth” faction’s head Sergey Mironov in the Duma.
“In the Soviet Union, the required two children per family were largely achieved through the republics that are no longer part of Russia,” Putin noted, building on Mironov’s comment which earlier drew attention to the fact that the current Russian birth rate of 1.6 children per family “does not ensure the reproduction of the nation, as it should exceed two for this purpose.”
